The caper plant, Capparis spinosa, is a Mediterranean bush which is known over centuries and also written in the Bible and other ancient documents.
Caperberry is a fruit, which blossoms if caper buds are not picked in time. Caperberry is picked with its stem and has seeds, also harder than the Caper and about the size of an olive. Caperberries are picked by hand during harvest season between June and August.
Caperberries are edible and pickled in brine with vinegar or salted and they are very popular in Mediterranean dishes, salads, pizza, etc.
