Lucuma fruit can be found everywhere in Peru during the summer months, but it is not suitable for export as a fresh fruit because it ripens and rots very quickly. Therefore, most of the production is processed immediately by drying and pulverizing.
Lucuma is rich in carbohydrates, fiber, minerals, beta carotene, calcium, phosphorus and niacin.
